I am an engineer for media technology and imaging sciences since 2006 with the focus on industrial and medical imaging. I did my diploma thesis in the area of image quality control for digital mammography screening in cooperation with the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor in Luxembourg and the Ministry of Health, Luxembourg. The title of the thesis is „Automated Determination of Measurements in Phantom Images according to PAS 1054 and their statistical evaluation“. The developed system was deployed into the mammography screening units of Luxembourg.
After my diploma I joined the Resource Centre for Health Care Technologies at the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor to work there as a R&D engineer, to extend the image quality control software to other digital modalities. During my professional career I was able to gather experience in software engineering, databases, web development, embedded systems and hardware. Beside I was involved in medical device development projects that raised my awareness on its specific needs concerning safety.
Since January 2015, I am working for the Multimodal Analytics group of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology as a Senior Technician on projects related to data collection and tangible user interaction. I am therefore planning and prototyping of hardware in 2D and 3D, using methods of rapid prototyping including CNC milling, laser cutting and 3D printing. I organized and carried out the development of two exhibits of the LIST corporate showroom and one exhibit for a technical museum.
